About Consilium Scientific

Consilium Scientific is a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving clinical research through scientific rigour, transparency, education, advocacy, and policy change. We operate as a company limited by guarantee registered in the United Kingdom (Company Number: 11634394) without share capital and using the 'Limited' exemption, as confirmed by records at Companies House. In the United States, we are recognised as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organisation, enabling us to receive tax-deductible contributions to support our mission.

Our work focuses on fostering collaboration among initiatives and individuals to enhance the quality of clinical research, shifting attitudes and practices through evidence-based approaches, and advocating for policies that maximise value for patients and society. We achieve this through hosting events, seminars, and delivering projects that promote best practices in research methodology, evidence generation, and health technology assessment.

Consilium Scientific is independent of any political, commercial, or religious interests and relies on a diverse funding portfolio to mitigate any undue influence by our funders on the direction of our work. We follow best practices in ensuring research ethics and scientific integrity.

As a non-profit, Consilium Scientific is funded primarily through competitive grants from public and philanthropic sources as well as donations. We currently hold grant funding from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) in the UK and in the US, we receive grant funding from Arnold Ventures, a philanthropy committed to evidence-based solutions across health, criminal justice, and other areas.

We do not accept funding that could compromise our independence or mission. Full details on our governance, financial reports (as required by UK company law), and current projects are accessible upon request or can be found on the Companies House and IRS websites.
